Leading 30 in Cosplay Idol North American Album A (12 May 2011)

The cosplayers in the Otaku House Cosplay Idol North American Album (A) are some of our earliest contestants, and they’ve been in the heat of the battle for more than a month now.

So here I am, taking a look at how they’re doing, and giving you a quick update on who’s leading in this album (by the number of votes)! This is one of my favorite albums in this contest, and I just can’t wait to see which one of these awesome North American cosplayers will eventually make it to the finals which will be held in September 2011!

The below are the current Top 30 out of 200 as of today 12 May 2011. So if your favorite cosplayer is not here, or if you want to bump up the votes of one of them here, vote for them here. Remember, only the Top 5 in this album will make it to the Finals! It’s still a while more to July when the qualifiers end, so anything can happen to the number of votes from now till then!

My comments : He’s cute isn’t he.

28. Melanie Saunders as Winry Rockbell from “Full Metal Alchemist”

Country : USA, Birmingham
My comments : A simple cosplay that shows off what Winry Rockbell is all about.

27. Chris Attia as Kurosaki Ichigo from “Bleach”

Country : USA, Virginia
My comments : No abs, but the dark foreboding atmosphere evoked by Chris is similarly jaw dropping.

26. Rachel Fenner as Azure Flame Kite from .hack//G.U.

My comments : I like the details on this one.

25. Brittney Angel Drake as Halibel from “Bleach”

Country : USA, California
My comments : Theodore has the perfect man-body. Brittney has the perfect woman-body. Her choice of portraying Halibel in her resurrection form perfectly shows off her body, which is to die for.

24. Tarisa Walker as Sally Jupiter from “The Watchmen”

Country : USA, Florida
My comments : I’m not familiar with the series so I can’t say much, but Fire Lily sure got the ‘old world glam’ right.

23. April Buyer as American McGee’s Alice

Country : USA, California
My comments : I’m not familiar with American McGee’s Alice, but having known Alice to the wide-eyed girl hurled into a fantasy land all my life, this Dark Alice is so refreshing. I think April portrays the twisted Alice very well!

22. Scott Coen as Kisame Hoshigaki From “Naruto”

Country : USA, Moorpark
My comments : I’m an Itachi fangirl and always thought of Kisame as Itachi’s sidekick. But Scott proves Kisame can be the main man too!

21. Hannah-Marie Hatter as Uzumaki Naruto (Sexy no Jutsu ver.) from “Naruto”

My comments : My favorite part of this cosplay is that cheeky sunshine smile on Hannah-Marie’s face. It speaks clearly of the mischief Naruto just did in this jutsu form.

20. Emily Putscher as Link from “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess”

Country : USA, Delaware
My comments : Emily makes for a very ethereal looking Link. I dig her chain mail.

19. Caitlin Beards as Hellequin from “Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood”

Country : USA, New Jersey
My comments : Both the costume and the photo is a finework of art.

18. Dria Umbra as Jenova from “Final Fantasy 7”

Country : USA, Tennessee
My comments : Isn’t this just simply kick-ass. I had my breath taken away when I first saw this picture. Dria must have spent so much effort on this one.

17. Brian Lambariello as Tidus from “Final Fantasy X”

My comments : I am impressed Brian managed to find a backdrop that looks like it’s right out of Final Fantasy X. I would have much preferred to look at Tidus’ face though.

My comments : Oh man, check out those buckles!

15. Tamara Stevens as Ryuk from “Death Note”

Country : USA, Harrisburg
My comments : The mask and the wings are so awesome! You want to feed him apples.

14. Ashley Dessi as Rydia of the Mist from “Final Fantasy IV”

Country : USA, Virginia
My comments : Ashley should use this photo for some environmentalist movement to be their mascot girl!

13. Andrea Zampella as Midna from “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess”

Country : USA, Florida
My comments : So there are 3 Legend of Zelda cosplayers who are currently leading. Midna is a very popular character to cosplay as, and Andrea makes for a beautiful Midna.

12. Danielle LaFleur as Elementalist from “Granado Espada”

Country : USA, Pennsylvania
My comments : An amazingly detailed costume. Danielle looks absolutely gorgeous in this.

11. Vanessa Escalambre as Aqua from “Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep“

Country : USA, Las Vegas
My comments : Aqua never looked so hot.

10. Nicolle Wisch as Mew Mew Ichigo from “Tokyo Mew Mew”

Country : USA, Los Angeles
My comments : One word : Sweet.

9. Kaitlyn Abdou as Deep Dive Riku from “Kingdom Hearts II“

Country : USA
My comments : This is simply right out of the game.

8. Colleen McCone as Asuka Langley Sohryu from “Neon Genesis Evangelion”

Country : USA, Delaware
My comments : Her defiant expression does it for me. Colleen is perfect as Asuka.

7. Brittany Velvarde as Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck from “Bleach”

Country : USA, California
My comments : Brittany portrays a sultry Nel. Her first picture which she submitted with her little sister as baby Nel was to die for. But it was replaced as this was a solo contest. You can still check it out at our Misc folder on our facebook page if you’re interested.

6. Jenny Higgins as Cammy from “Street Fighter“

My comments : Wonderful shot of Cammy right in the middle of action! Jenny is one of the best Cammy cosplayers I’ve come across yet.

5. Lada Bordewick as Alexiel from “Angel Sanctuary”

My comments : An angel descends. I’m not familiar with this series but Lada looks amazing and this costume looks amazing and the photo is amazing. So what’s not to like?

4. Bronte Mckinney as Tira from “Soul Calibur”

My comments : Another one of my faves. That hoop is something else. What is there not to like in this costume? The details are amazing from head to toe and Bronte looks amazing.

3. Jason Yun as Raiden from “Metal Gear Solid Rising”

My comments : An amazing photo that looks right out of the game. Though I would have preferred the digital editing to be toned down slightly.

2. Jessica Jaynes as Link from “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess”

Country : USA, Tenesse
My comments : The first Link to join Cosplay Idol, and remains as one of the top favorite Links in the contest. This looks almost like a live-action movie poster of The Legend of Zelda.

1. Theodore Linardos as Kurosaki Ichigo from “Bleach”

Country : USA, California
My comments : I couldn’t help but giggle girlishly non stop when I first saw this photo. I even drooled a little. But only a little. The comments under his photo show that I was not the only one. There are fan girls seriously ready to rape him. True to his nickname, Theodore brings us a ‘Living Ichigo’.
