Comic-Con Adelaide 2012

March 31st saw the first Comic-con on Australian shores. This convention has a glorious reputation over in America and admittedly I didn’t hold out that it was going to be a strong convention being held in Adelaide, however I was thoroughly wrong.

Taiwan International Book Fair - Anime and Comics

Hello fellow Otaku, Yoshi Nin here. I just returned from the annual Taiwan International Book Exhibition (TiBE), the largest book fair in Taiwan and have to say; this lizard is very impressed with the lovely ∈cchi stuffs I found in the Anime and Comics Pavilion. -strokes lizard chin in approval-

MCTV MOVIE MANIA 2012 Day 1 Review

Another successful event by the Mindanao Cable Television, The MCTV Movie Mania 2012 opened the doors to cosplayers who are interested in movie characters other than the common anime cosplay. Famous movie characters such as Cruella De Vil and the Baroness were present on the event. Other characters who graced the event were Neytiri of Avatar, Katara of The Last Airbender and Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII.

Otaku House will be sponsoring COMCOM 2012

COMCOM is a Pop Culture convention that involves Video Games, Comics, Anime/Manga, Design and Fashion. Last year, COMCOM welcomed over 6,000 visitors in one day. Besides their many events, tournaments and exposition, Cosplay COMCOM also hosted an Individual Cosplay Contest. You guys MUST see the cosplayers from this con! Avalancha is a serie of conventions on different countries as Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia and for the first time in Ecuador. The R.C acronym belong to our beloved friend Ricardo Concha from Guayaquil who died last year, he gave us VB2 convention on 2009.

O-Bon in October

O-Bon in October is a Halloween party celebrated in the Japanese way. The Nihon Fure Ai Kai (A Touch of Japan Club) of WMSU College of Nursing hosted this small but fun-filled party together with sponsors R.A. Gapuz Review Center and St. Peter Zamboanga. The fun started at 6:00 PM at the Perlita Hotel and Restaurant last October 30, 2011. The guests were the members of the club and friends who love dressing up for fun.

Dragon Ball Z takes over New York Anime Fest


NY Anime Festival celebrated Dragon Ball Z’s 15th anniversary with the premier of its rerelease in HD hosted by special guests: Chris Sabat, Justin Cook and Sean Schemmel. Throughout the weekend free DBZ headbands were given out in the showroom which filled the convention halls with hundreds of Super Saiyans. It was truly a blast from the past as we revisited this childhood favorite.

New York Comic Con and Anime Festival 2011 Pictures

New York’s two-in-one convention, Comic Con and Anime Festival, took over Manhattan this past weekend at the Jacob Javits Convention Center for a four day event. Even though Comic Con has already been around for six years, this was only the second year for its sister convention Anime Festival. NYC has been lacking a good anime convention ever since Big Apple Anime Fest shut its doors permanently back in 2004.
